How To Alleviate Your Wedding Cost

Everyone wants a wedding that will reflect their taste and personality, and for that, you do not have to be a millionaire; you can add your taste in simple things and be content with what you have. I will show you how to alleviate your wedding cost and make the most of your budget…

1. Negotiation Is Key

You will employ many people for your wedding, DJ, photographers, caterers and so on… try to see the different packages that they offer. Explain that you have a specific budget dedicated to them and try to negotiate the most you can have within this budget.

For example, if there is a package with five finger food per guest, you can cut it back to 2 or 3 per person; this does not seem like many, but keep in mind that you may have 100 guests and 300 sandwiches compared to 500, will make a difference.

2. Stationery

Some people go crazy when it comes to buying stationery; they want it all because they see that it is cheap and why not… stationery is a cost that can add up pretty quickly.

For example, if you want a letterpress, you will need to spend around $ 7 for one invitation. Many other options are way cheaper but still very beautiful. Some people choose to do their invitation themselves; this is also a great alternative if you have the time to do it.

3. Caterer

Some venues have their caterer service, but those tend to be a lot more expensive compared to if you choose your caterer. If your caterer has the option of a family-style dinner, where there is a shared platter, better go for that option, as this will allow you to save more than 20 % off your cost.

4. The Dress

The dress is an important part of the wedding; I think we have hyped this too much in the past, thus making people think they have to spend a lot of money on the dress. I would recommend you to go for a second-hand dress, or you can rent a dress for the occasion as you shall wear it only for one occasion.

5. Get Married During The Week

Over the weekend, venues normally cost more. Because venues are more in-demand during the weekend, they are more expensive. This will allow you to book your dream venue from 10 % less, and if you choose in winter or even early spring, you will be able to save even more.

6. Drinks

Serving customized cocktails at your wedding is a great way to show off your personality. Because the kinds available are restricted, it helps you regulate the amount of money you spend on alcohol (if you choose to serve alcohol). Meanwhile, you’d still be offering fantastic cocktails.

This wedding budget breakdown can be used as a starting point for creating your unique wedding budget. If you don’t think it’s best for your money, you don’t have to spend the usual amount on a wedding. Remember, your wedding isn’t simply for one day of celebrations!
